Walsall's SEND Local Area was inspected by Ofsted and CQC in February 2019, and re-inspected in June 2022. The Local Area was directed to produce an Accelerated Progress Plan (APP) for the two areas of concern where we did not make sufficient progress. The Department for Education (DfE) and NHS England will oversee this.

Walsall's APP was agreed by the DfE on 18 October 2022. The APP document sets out why we did not achieve sufficient progress. It also explains how actions and aims of the APP will be achieved through key areas of oversight.
The improvement plan and risk register set out the key actions that we will take to achieve the required outcomes over the next 12 months.
