Your voice matters - four people holding up speech bubbles

Our very first Youth SEND Forum took place on Thursday, 10 April, and it was a fantastic success! A big thank you to the amazing group of children and young people aged 8 to 14 years who attended, and a special shout-out to the teachers who supported them in joining during school time.

We had some brilliant conversations around understanding our needs – or as we like to call them, superpowers! The group shared what they're great at, as well as what they sometimes find a bit tricky.

We also talked about what helps them learn best. For some, having fidget toys made a big difference, while others said that a breakout space helped them regulate their emotions and focus better.

Next, we explored what teamwork means. The group shared thoughtful ideas about what makes a great team, such as listening to each other and sharing ideas, and what can make teamwork difficult – like arguments or when one person takes over.

Join us for the next Youth SEND Forum!
