Supported Waiting Network thrives - summer sessions and monthly meetings

Is your child on a waiting list to be seen by a peadiatric health service? Come and join us for support while you wait to be seen.

Group of 3 young people and an adult

The Supported Waiting Network continues to go from strength to strength, offering a safe, welcoming space for families with a child on a paediatric waiting list – whether that’s for a diagnosis, a paediatric appointment, or other related services.

We’re pleased to share that sessions will continue throughout the summer holidays, and children and young people are very welcome. To support this, we’re working in partnership with the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) team to ensure there are fun and engaging activities available for children and young people to enjoy while parents and carers access support.

Families attending the network have shared some amazing feedback:

“I felt like I was being treated as a human and really felt you all understood.”

“They see us parents as humans too, with feelings, and go out of their way to help with anything they can. I would like to say a massive thank-you.”

“I felt very welcomed and supported in a new environment.”

As well as the summer sessions, the Supported Waiting Partnership Network Meetings continue to take place every month, giving families a chance to hear from guest speakers, ask questions, and access advice from a wide range of services that support both children and their families.
