Get involved in shaping SEND services

In Walsall, we believe that the voices of parents, carers, children, young people, and professionals are vital in shaping and improving our SEND services. That’s why we offer a range of opportunities for meaningful participation and co-production. 

Parent Partnership Group 

The Parent Partnership Group is a welcoming and inclusive participation group for parents and carers of children and young people aged 0–25 with SEND in Walsall. 

What the group does: 

  • Shares lived experiences, ideas, and feedback to help improve SEND support and services.
  • Works collaboratively with professionals to shape policies and practices.
  • Builds connections and friendships with other parents and carers. 

How to get involved: 

  • Join regular online meetings.
  • Take part in co-production events and workshops.
  • Contribute to consultations and service development projects. 

Whether you’re new to SEND or have years of experience, your voice matters. 

Youth SEND Forum 

The Youth SEND Forum is a vibrant participation group for children and young people aged 8–25 with SEND in Walsall. 

What the forum does: 

  • Provides a safe space for young people to share their views and experiences.
  • Helps shape services that directly impact their lives.
  • Builds confidence, leadership skills, and friendships. 

How to get involved: 

  • Attend regular forum sessions and creative workshops.
  • Take part in fun, inclusive activities that promote self-expression.
  • Collaborate with professionals to influence decision-making. 

Young people are at the heart of everything we do, their voices help us build better, more inclusive services. 

Local Offer Steering Group 

The Local Offer Steering Group brings together partners and professionals from across Walsall to oversee and develop the SEND Local Offer. 

What the group does: 

  • Ensures the Local Offer is clear, accessible, and responsive to local needs.
  • Reviews feedback from families and young people to improve services.
  • Supports co-production with parents, carers, and young people. 

How to get involved: 

  • Professionals and partners can join the group to contribute their expertise.
  • Work collaboratively to ensure services are inclusive and effective.
  • Help shape the strategic direction of SEND in Walsall.
